As for absences, I think it’s mostly a function of what’s in the site’s reviews database—there are things like Nick Cave reissues on the list but not indie touchstones like Dusk at Cubist Castle.

Yeah, that’s what I’d initially thought, but I noticed a few that Pitchfork definitely reviewed (Burning Airlines’ Identikit, for instance). I also wondered if the database was getting updated with new reader picks as they came in, but I suppose that doesn’t make much sense, now that I think about it.
