The Beach Boys - “Long Promised Road” (Surf’s Up)
Considering that he didn’t do much songwriting in the Beach Boys until 1971, Carl Wilson practically steals the show on Surf’s Up with “Long Promised Road” and “Feel Flows.”
I heard Wilson’s determined little burst of optimism this morning on the way to work and sought out a video soon after. It’s completely goofy, yet thoroughly in line with the song’s straightforward, uplifting message. Today’s a good day to focus on the positive in these parts.
Late on this amazing cover.
